Lyra (o del chiudersi a riccio)
Lyra (or Curling Up Like a Hedgehog)
Year: 2025
A young girl curled up on herself, her body forming a protective shell. Lyra is the representation of withdrawal, of the instinct to retreat inward to protect one’s most vulnerable part.
The image explores the theme of emotional self-defense—how sometimes closing off is not fear, but a form of resilience. The hedgehog, small and watchful, becomes her mirror and her guardian. Its presence is not ornamental: it shares her posture, her silence, and her message.
The landscape is intimate, dimly lit, as if filtered through memory. There’s a softness in the shadows, a hush in the tones, echoing that safe space we all seek when the world feels too sharp.
Lyra speaks of sensitivity as strength, of stillness as a conscious choice.
