Arya (o del piangere lacrime di coccodrillo)
Arya (or Crying Crocodile Tears)
Year: 2025
A girl stands still, her eyes filled with tears, while a crocodile lies nearby—watchful, unmoving. Arya explores the ambiguity of emotion: the blurred line between authentic feeling and the masks we sometimes wear.
The expression “crocodile tears” suggests false sorrow, but here it takes on a deeper, more complex meaning. The crocodile is not a symbol of deceit, but a silent witness, a creature ancient and enigmatic, holding space for pain that cannot be easily named.
This image questions the nature of vulnerability: is it always sincere? Is it sometimes a defense, or a performance we offer to ourselves? Arya does not give answers, but invites reflection on how we process grief, guilt, or longing.
Bathed in subdued light, with a surreal stillness, the scene captures that delicate moment where emotion teeters between truth and illusion.
